Consumer-Centric Accessibility: Learning Through Experience ♿
At Swire Coca-Cola HK, we care for our People and the communities we call home — a commitment reflected in our “Our Choice, Our Futures!” sustainability strategy. We believe that meaningful change starts with listening and understanding our consumers and neighbours. To bring this to life, we partnered with Wheel Power for our first Social Inclusion Bootcamp — a day spent learning directly from people with lived experience.
Colleagues spent time in wheelchairs, guided by those who navigate daily barriers. The day was humbling and eye opening: accessibility isn’t just about ramps or signage — it’s about the small, everyday interactions that shape someone’s experience. As one colleague reflected, “Facilities take time to change, but how we interact with wheelchair users can change right now.”🤝
Being consumer-centric means knowing our customers beyond demographics. These immersive moments helped us better understand the needs and preferences of people with mobility challenges, and gave us human stories to carry forward.
The experience will help guide how we continue to approach accessibility and engage thoughtfully with the communities we serve. 🌱
