SWIRE BEGINS LOCAL BOTTLING
Swire entered the Coca-Cola bottling business through the acquisition of Hong Kong Bottlers in Lai Chi Kok, beginning local production of glass-bottled beverages.
SHA TIN PLANT OPENS
The Sha Tin Plant opened as the world’s tallest bottling facility, standing 147 metres tall with 18 floors and more than 70,000 square metres of floor space.
AMONG THE WORLD’S FASTEST CAN LINES
Launched one of the world’s fastest can production lines, reaching a production speed of 2,000 cans per minute.
ADVANCING rPET PACKAGING
Swire Coca-Cola HK began using 100% rPET for all locally produced Bonaqua® mineralised water bottles of 2L or below, helping reduce plastic use while keeping bottles lightweight.
ASEPTIC PRODUCTION LINE COMMISSIONED
Commissioned an aseptic production line, expanding beverage production capabilities while reducing packaging materials and supporting more sustainable operations.
FIRST LABEL-LESS BOTTLED WATER
Swire Coca-Cola HK introduced its first label-less bottled water for individual sale, further reducing packaging materials and supporting more sustainable choices.
MINERALISED WATER IN RETURNABLE GLASS BOTTLES
Mineralised water in RGB form was introduced in the hotel and Business to Business sector.
EXPANDING 100% rPET PACKAGING
Introduced Coca-Cola® Trademark Original Taste 500mL bottles made from 100% rPET, extending the use of recycled PET across the portfolio and supporting circular packaging efforts.
NEW SPARKLING PET LINE LAUNCHES
Swire Coca-Cola HK launched a new Sparkling PET production line, strengthening local production capabilities while supporting innovation, sustainability and safety.
In the same year, Coca-Cola® 500ml and bonaqua® PET bottles from 550ml to 1.5L began using locally recycled PET supplied by New Life Plastics Ltd in Hong Kong.
